How To: Play More

Play is essential to our wellbeing. Deep effortless involvement in joyful activities helps us feel less stressed and more creative.

Yet, play can be the first thing we cut from our busy schedules. How do we keep play at the top of our minds— and agendas? Create a Play Plan. A Play Plan is a description of the specific kind of play you’ll engage in listed out by month.

Here’s how to make yours:

  1. List out the months of the year.

  2. Fill in at least one playful activity for each month.

  3. Make play time non negotiable. Commit fully.

By creating a Play Plan, you’re giving yourself the opportunity to make and keep a promise to yourself. You’re building self trust and intentionally cultivating more joy, creativity and fun in your life.

Your play looks however you want it to look. Keep it simple. And, have fun. Always have fun.
